How to enlarge Windows Aero Preview thumbnails

350 px, the preview can use all the space depending of the window
If you think that your preview thumbnails in the taskbar are too small you can choose to change their dimension without a 3rd-party software or admin rights.

Simply open the System Registry (WIN+R and write "regedit" without quotes or WIN and write "regedit") and then find this key in this path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Taskband

Put it in the Favorites using the Favorites menu, so you can reach this key in a click.

Now to enlarging thumbnails follow these steps:
- right click in the space where there are the items
- select New > DWORD (32Bit) to create a new item for the Taskband key
- write MinThumbSizePx as the name of the new item
- double click the new item and write a decimal value (I used 350)

Close the registry.
For apply changes use the LogOff options (Start>LogOff)

You can try to insert these values  (default value):

  • MinThumbSizePx (200)
  • MaxThumbSizePx (200)
  • TextHeightPx
  • TopMarginPx (16)
  • LeftMarginPx (16)
  • RightMarginPx (16)
  • BottomMarginPx (16)
  • ThumbSpacingXPx (16)
  • ThumbSpacingYPx (16)
