What I hate #1
In the computer world:
My hate destroys me every time I hear "app".
iOs has "apps"
there is an "app" for everything
Android has "apps"
"app"-stores
Chrome has "apps" (extensions-plugins-someothershittyword)
This OS has "apps"
did you download this "app"?
And now...
Microsoft has called programs ... applications? None. Software? None. User software? None.
APPS!!!

Kill me! I don't deserve to live |
It's all so trendy-fashion-casual!
- Facebook integration
I hate with all my heart software that want integrate Facebook functions or Facebook account.
"Like Button" is ok, but your Skype account linked to the Facebook account linked to the Google account linked to the Firefox account linked to the Live account linked to the Blogger account linked to the Youtube account linked to the Steam account linked to Facebook account integrated in your Office suite is MADNESS.

Windows 8 build - Developer Preview
Have you tried the alpha version of Windows 8? See previous posts!
If you have questions or suggestions visit http://win8.ms/forums
Conclusion:
Ok, ok, ok... it's only an alpha version, only an alpha version, only...
Technically is a good Windows (works on tablet, boot, features, etc...), but there is NO separation between the two interfaces... clicking the "Start Button" in normal UI and Settings window opens is in Metro UI style, IT TOTALLY GLOBALLY SUCKS.
But Metro UI rocks in a tablet:

First look:
I've tried this Developer version, ok, it's not the final version, it's not a Beta version, it's an alpha-alpha version so... may changes.
In my first try:
- What a speed!
- Ribbon menu? Minimized is good, maximized is ... crap
- Quick Access Toolbar: removed, horrible
- How can I shutdown the system??? On Settings/Power/whataoption... WHAT?
- Metro UI... awesome... on a fuck*** tablet
- Where is my Aero 3D?
- Why in the normal UI everything clicked opens the Metro UI???
- How can I close an app opened in Metro UI (yeah, task manager...what?)
- You can switch between Metro UI and normal UI in a click

C'mon Asus...
The news is old but.... (May 2011 maybe)
C'mon Asus, what are you doing? Your designers have no fantasy?
Why are you copying in this way another laptop?
Ok, maybe this Asus is more powerful than Apple Macbook (I don't check specs), but there is no reason to copy his form.
There is no more imagination. I am very disappointed.

An Italian story: Olivetti
I like the stories of the past, where small companies led with passion and courage faced challenges that today seem small and insignificant, but at that time were of a unimaginable greatness.
This time I want to talk about an Italian company, Olivetti, born in 1908 and dedicated to innovation in the field of mechanical, electronic and computer products.
This company began producing typewriters and calculating tools such as mechanical and electromechanical Divsumma14 the first calculator in the world with the four operations and printing (1948).
Divsumma14 |
It worked with the precision of 22 digits and 15 fixed-point decimal. Programming language was similar to Assembler, but simpler.
For more (but this voice is incomplete): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivetti
Now the good times when passion drove innovation are over.
Only the big companies for reasons of economic power can meet the challenge in designing and manufacturing their idea completely.

Goodbye Windows Xp
Microsoft will release the updates for Windows Xp till 2014.
Windows Xp is the Microsoft's OS released on the 2001, based on the NT kernel and widely used till now.
This OS thank to the updates is still working fine and most of users didn't changed it for Vista.
In the 2014 (or before) users can choose Windows Seven (that works better than Vista [battery drain, resources management, more tools,...]) or Windows 8 (2012).
Windows Xp was released in these versions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_editions
There is a special version for old pc, but you can build your Xp version for old pc (less space, less ram usage, ecc...) with a WXp cd and the software nLite.
If you wanna pass to Seven consider to take a look to this video:

Badly Stuffed Animals
The Facebook group "Badly Stuffed Animals" who collected photos of stuffed animals (some taxidermy fails) was deleted.
The group's material hangs between sadness and hilarity due to poor work of taxidermy.
You can reach the cache from here:

(if you are sensitive to animals don't look)

Google images reverse search
I noticed it a few days ago, maybe you know already.
Google has finally searching for images based on an image and not text.
Such as TineEye, Google will use a picture to find other similar or identical, but will also serve to begin a general search on an image.
For example, the photo of a statue can give results as other photos of the statue, and various other information.
Of course, thanks to giant Google's database the results are interesting.
In the search page simply click the camera icon, or drag and drop a photo on the search bar.

PS Vita, the new psp
Only two things:
- great specs (http://it.playstation.com/psvita/#select-tab-specifications) !!!! WOW!!!
- shitty name
I have only the old PSP (Fat) for playing all my PS1 games and some UMD, but this Playstation Portable caught my attention.
With Ipad/Iphone, Android devices and PSVita, Nds the mobile gaming is marvelous.
