Windows 8 build - Developer Preview
Have you tried the alpha version of Windows 8? See previous posts!
If you have questions or suggestions visit http://win8.ms/forums
Conclusion:
Ok, ok, ok... it's only an alpha version, only an alpha version, only...
Technically is a good Windows (works on tablet, boot, features, etc...), but there is NO separation between the two interfaces... clicking the "Start Button" in normal UI and Settings window opens is in Metro UI style, IT TOTALLY GLOBALLY SUCKS.
But Metro UI rocks in a tablet:

First look:
I've tried this Developer version, ok, it's not the final version, it's not a Beta version, it's an alpha-alpha version so... may changes.
In my first try:
- What a speed!
- Ribbon menu? Minimized is good, maximized is ... crap
- Quick Access Toolbar: removed, horrible
- How can I shutdown the system??? On Settings/Power/whataoption... WHAT?
- Metro UI... awesome... on a fuck*** tablet
- Where is my Aero 3D?
- Why in the normal UI everything clicked opens the Metro UI???
- How can I close an app opened in Metro UI (yeah, task manager...what?)
- You can switch between Metro UI and normal UI in a click

Let's try Soluto: anti-frustation software!
Let's try this software that promises to detect and fix some pc problems and speed-up your computer.
Download it from the website:
The install procedure is easy, the installer checks if you have the .Net Framework up to date, creates a Restore Point and then downloads the program.
What a nice graphic-style!
and........ on XP doesn't work, some error. My fault? I don't know.
Let's try on Seven...
Yeah, it works! |
The software is calculating the first boot time... (you can avoid this if you want)
There are 3 modes:
- Chop Boot: reduce boot time (it shows you the removable software in the boot and calculate the time earned)
- Lighten Web Browser: speed-up your browser (toolbars and other crap destroying)
- Heal Crashes: collects all crash/freeze/fault reports (I have no crash so I can't use this feature)
I perform some upgrades in this first boot, normally the system is ready in 1 min. |
Imho, the software is useful for this "chop" function, but it's a Beta version, so I hope that will be more features in the complete final version.

Hard Reset
I'm trying this indie game demo (from Steam, but you can obtain it in different ways)...
The graphic is awesome, the gameplay is nice, but I don't like too much futuristic fps :-(
