Firefly

I've never seen this TV series even though it is quite old (2002).
After seeing the first few episodes I decided to keep watching, too bad there is only one season.

I highly recommend watching this TV series created by Joss Whedon (do you remember Buffy, Dollhouse, etc.?)

Apple patents your mother too

Apple can patent everything (Samsung Vs Apple about swipe screens on display).
The next step will be patent images on the display?
Oh, shit. I said that.

Apple: master patents trolling since 1976
Prior art rule is valid?

Morning news: Steve is not more CEO of Apple, now Cook (probably) is.

Shock 4way 3D

I tried some virtual desktop manager... Shock 4way 3D is very nice, good graphic, good interface and customization.
You can set different effects to change desktop with a customizable hotkey.
Useful and beautiful, compatible with Xp, Vista and Seven.

C'mon Asus...

The news is old but.... (May 2011 maybe)
C'mon Asus, what are you doing? Your designers have no fantasy?

Why are you copying in this way another laptop?
Ok, maybe this Asus is more powerful than Apple Macbook (I don't check specs), but there is no reason to copy his form.
There is no more imagination. I am very disappointed.

An Italian story: Olivetti

I like the stories of the past, where small companies led with passion and courage faced challenges that today seem small and insignificant, but at that time were of a unimaginable greatness.

This time I want to talk about an Italian company, Olivetti, born in 1908 and dedicated to innovation in the field of mechanical, electronic and computer products.

This company began producing typewriters and calculating tools such as mechanical and electromechanical Divsumma14 the first calculator in the world with the four operations and printing (1948).

Divsumma14
In the 1957 the first mainframe computer called Elea and in the 1962 the first "Personal Computer" called Programma101:

It worked with the precision of 22 digits and 15 fixed-point decimal. Programming language was similar to Assembler, but simpler.

For more (but this voice is incomplete): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivetti

Now the good times when passion drove innovation are over.
Only the big companies for reasons of economic power can meet the challenge in designing and manufacturing their idea completely.
