Ok, game over. (Previous post)

The graphic is not bad for the year 2002, the gameplay is also good but sometimes your allies are very dumb.
The funny part is the low trust in each other and you can earn trust in your members helping them, giving them weapons and testing your blood (if you are a ... thing).
You can also aiming their heads to earn a "different trust". :-D
Fundamentally your allies are MEAT. Sweet burning meat. Useful, but meat.
The medic can cure you, engineers can fix things etc...

This is the auto aiming modes...
With easy mode you can shoot without adjusting too much your orientation, with hard mode you need to point correctly your enemies...

Let's start the adventure!
First level is the movie location.

First level intro: you and your team
reach the base with a chopper.

This is what remains of the base...

The medic... you can stay near him if you want be healed.

This is your team, you can watch their status:
- life
- fear
- trust

You can do some actions with a specific member:

- follow me / stay here
- do something (fix a fuse box etc...)
- take this weapon
- give me your weapon (if he's mad/scared)

Tutorial, advancing in the game, in the early levels, some messages help you to know what do.

In this case your team-mate was scared looking at the corpse... (and he's a medic!!)

When they go mad you can use adrenaline on them.
If they go mad they can hurt you or theirselves (to death)

The blue light sticks are used to guide you in various outdoor environments where the blizzard lowers visibility

You can access to computer data or use cameras to view other locations...

With the camera you can see the password for that room... the room of the ice cube.

Your team-mates are really useful, when an enemy appers they kill it like a charm.
But they are dumb and they shoot you if you are between them and the enemy.

Cheats time:

Run regedit (system registry) and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Computer Artworks/TheThing/1.0 

Save it in the Favorites (menu options > Favorites > Add to Favorites...)

in the above section add a new entry, right click and New > String Value

The names of the string entry could be:

PlayerInvulnerable

or

NPCInvulnerable

or

FullWeaponEquip

(Need an explanation? I don't think so)

When you create the entry edit its value with 1 to active the cheat or 0 to deactive.

Obviously you can insert in the registry all the three strings above.

The cheats will work after a new level is loaded, not after loading a saved game.
