Martian Gothic: unification (end?)

Martian Gothic

I'm to the 95% of the game (the catacombs, the arena, the obelisk, the chorus, the Queen Mab sarcophagus) but I dropped it.
I can assure you that is the most frustrating game I've ever played and the last levels are pure masochism.
If you're brave enough to play it, do it with the cheats:
select the item "Tip book" in the Kenzo's inventory and write AREYOULOOKINATME for GodMode and IFEELUNUSUAL for infinite ammo.
Use this if you have problems: http://adrian.saxtus.gr/rr-mgoth.doc (thanks Adrian! Best guide for this game)

Argh, the plot is not bad, I would like to finish it, but... I care about my mental health!

I don't give a fuck about this Martian shit, I found this RC car and now I'm really happy!!! WRRRRRRR

Grim Fandango 9th world #3

Grim Fandango, from 1998, is the first adventure game by LucasArts to use 3D models with prerendered backgrounds (like first Resident Evil games) and it's awesome for the plot, the dialogues and the general style.
There is some bug around in some locations, but nothing important.

Full game by screenshots (obviously spoilers):

[Nostalgia] Martian Gothic: Unification #1

Martian Gothic pc

I'm trying to play this old game (2000), but controlling the main characters is really painful.
Mars + station + dark presences + a reconnaissance mission...
There are all the elements for a good survival horror with a storyline a bit obvious perhaps, but it can fascinate.

Well... and now?
I'm so beautiful...
Can't rape a corpse...
This guy has no sense at all...
Curtains 1998: yeah, funny
I need you to cuddle me ♥
I do not know if I will continue ... controlling three characters around the station can be interesting, but it's also a beautiful pain in the ass.

Edit: aw god, enemies have the magnetic attack, you are 2 meters away from one of them and TACK! he's biting your back. Ah, finally weapons...

GDIPP: change your font rendering in Windows

With this software you can change how Windows renders the fonts.

There are three ways to install this utility: service, registry and loader.

I choose loader because it's the easy way for testing the difference drag'n'dropping the executable into the GDIPP shortcut.

Pay attention to installing this software, read what service, registry and loader will do in the installing process.

Capturing screenshots was a problem...

I experienced some problem with Fraps in games like Grim Fandango: it's impossible to capture a screenshot.

So I downloaded this software, ShareX, the successor of Zscreen and put CTRL+PrintScreen to take screenshots.
With the only PrintScreen or Fn(eg: F11) nothing happened playing Grim Fandango, I suppose some "hotkey" problem, but now works like a charm.

ShareX saves and uploads images by default, so set your config.

[Nostalgia] Grim Fandango, playing on Windows 7

How can I play this awesome game on the new versions of Windows?

The fast and clean way is a new installer and launcher (the links are in the bottom).
The steps are:
- install the game with this installer using your CDs
- the update patch will be automatically downloaded and installed
- use the launcher to launch the game (there is a shortcut on the desktop) and you can play it in "windowed mode" too...

Installer & launcher:
http://quickandeasysoftware.net/quick-and-easy-week-day-1-grim-fandango-launcher-grim-fandango-setup

If it doesn't work (you click start but the game doesn't start...) use this patch:

GrimPatchXPv2.exe  (google it)

I'm on Windows Seven 32, but without this patch the game doesn't work, so if you have this problem you can solve it very easily!
